What was the first firearm you ever shot?

I am curious to hear everyone’s stories, what was the very first firearm you ever shot and how did it go?

Remington 12C pump .22LR but shooting .22 Shorts. Octagonal barrel, curved buttplate. Was my Grandfather's. Now in my gun safe. As I recall I was hitting the piece of 2 x 8 set out in his rural back yard, probably no more than 25 yards away.
