Lost my favorite knife somewhere in the woods

I had that thing for probably ten years and I used it on every hunt. I realized it was gone when I got home and I'm genuinely bummed about it. It wasn't expensive or special, just mine you know? Ever lose a piece of gear that you actually cared about?

Yep, I have! I lost a skinning knife that I'd had for years, and it felt like losing a piece of my past. I replaced it, but it never felt the same in my hand.
