I was thinking about when I first started shooting, and one thing my first instructor told me has always stuck with me. He always said, "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." At the time, I didn't really get it. I just wanted to shoot faster and hit more targets, but he kept getting me to focus on the basics.. The crazy thing is, the more I slowed down and paid attention, the better I got. Even now, when I'm practicing or trying something new, I remember that saying. It reminds me not to rush, but to let speed come from being in control and doing things the same way each time
