I heard what sounded like a woman screaming in the woods once. Freaked me out until I learned it was a fox. But in the moment that was terrifying. What sounds or experiences in the woods have you had that you couldn't explain right away?

One night, I heard really loud footsteps circling our camp. I couldn't see any lights or eyes. It turned out to be some cattle just passing through but my heart was racing for a while.
