My female friend was ignored for 20 minutes while they helped guys who came in after her. When they finally acknowledged her, they talked down and tried pushing pink guns because 'ladies like pink.' We walked out and spent money elsewhere. Being condescending isn't just bad ethics, it's bad business. Treat everyone with respect or lose customers..

Pushy stereotypes and ignoring people is the fastest way to make customers vanish

Talking down to people will send them packing. My wife shoots more than I do some months, and she knows exactly what she wants. Shops that act like they know it all lose customers quick.

I met my wife when she was 17 and helping out in her father‘s gun store. She was already a crack shot then. She and I were out of state and decided to browse in a gun store that we passed. I watched a young lady enter the store and approach an older salesman asking to see a 9mm Sig. The salesman condescendingly drawled “I’m sorry little lady but that’s a pistol and you will have to get a license to own one of those“. She smiled at him and slapped an FBI shield and ID on the counter, saying “Will this do?“ She then scooped them up and walked out. The gentleman would’ve unquestionably had a sale if he hadn’t been a dick.

I met my wife when she was 17 as well back in 1967. Been together ever since and I cannot get her to even touch a gun. I have tried many times and finally gave up. She doesn't care how many I have and is not an anti-gun person but just not interested in them at all.

You could do a lot worse. I have friends whose wives have forbidden them from bringing any firearms whatsoever into their house.
