I knew it would be gunky. I just wasn’t prepared for how gunky. I spent 45 minutes on a job that should’ve taken 20. I now clean it every 200 rounds not because the gun demands it, but because I do.
 
That first deep clean resets your standards real quick, suddenly maintenance feels like prevention, not punishment.
 
I got into the habit of doing quick maintenance more often since it saves time later and makes the gun run smoother.
 
Yeah, once you see that buildup firsthand, shorter cleaning intervals just feel right even if not strictly necessary.
 
 Cleaning five hundred rounds of carbon out of a barrel is a lesson you really only need to learn once. I cap now myself at two hundred rounds, because honestly my time is worth a lot more than my stubbornness.
