Everyone treats them like they're perfect. Yeah they're classic but give me a modern gun any day. 1911 lovers, tell me why I'm wrong. Let's argue.

Bold take 😄 I respect the classics but modern guns are lighter, hold more and don’t need a love letter every cleaning.

I like 1911s because of how the trigger feels, not because of any hype. They're great for me at the gun range, but if I want something super reliable and easy to deal with, I go with polymer.

There is just something about how it feels when you pick up that big piece of steel. I think part of it is also nostalgia. A 5" 1911 is too big for me to carry, but I do love to shoot them at the range. Although I shoot my polymer pistols most of the time, I'm considering one of the OR 1911's from Springfield as my next pistol.

We’ll see how many current pistols are still in production after 115 years. I own my Grandfather’s WWI 1911. Still in my nightstand as a last ditch. I also have a semi-custom Officer’s Model I carry in the winter. Heavy but accurate. Gold Cup trigger and springs make the trigger pull a delight.
