Perfect carry revolver?

What do you consider to be the perfect carry revolver, and why? I'm eager to hear from those who rely on wheelguns every day about their real-world experiences and recommendations.

I love the S&W Model 19 with the 2.5" barrel. While it is a .357 Magnum, I shoot my .38 Special +P reloads in it. A 158gr SWCHP at 940fps is nothing to sneeze at. Just MHO.

I'm waiting for a carry license, so is my wife. I'm looking into the Smith Wesson 638, which allows SA and DA, and 642, only DA. For some reason, there are not many 638 enthusiasts.

I am waiting for a carry license, and my wife does too. West Side Range is too far and hard to reach, also because of the congestion fee in Manhattan.

I have to say, I no longer try to conceal a revolver. I used to carry a Colt Detective Special in .38 Spl. But for the same weight I now carry a S&W Shield 9 with Taran or MagGuts modified magazines to get 1+9 or 10 shots in 9mm. (Good 'ol NYS limits us to that). And it is about 1/2" narrower for concealment.

Around the property I do still carry a S&W M-14 K-38 Target Masterpiece. Not concealed beyond possibly under a coat or overshirt, but a great varmint shooter. I used to shoot PPC with the local sheriffs and it is deadly enough for bunny or woodchuck headshots at 25 yards.

I had and uncle who said that if you want a handgun that won't jam when you need it, buy a revolver.

That being said, though I have my cc I don't carry. I really don't want to shoot anyone, and I'm more likely to shoot myself on accident than anyone else so I don't carry. I'm fortunate to live in an area where I've never been concerned about needing it or any other type of personal protection.
