I suspect that camo is designed to appeal to the human eye. Most camo, if you back away and look at it, looks like a dark blob. Many videos demonstrate this.
The best camo is being motionless, and having your silhouette interrupted by something.
I have had deer walk right up to me while I was seated on the ground (Torges Tree Seat)in a blaze orange coverall. Camo does work, I like the bolder ASAT or Winona types, but it won’t disguise movement. A deer is just as afraid of a walking stump as it is a human.
Deer sometimes stick around if they see something they can’t figure out . . . but if they scent you? Zoom.
