The schmidt rubin rifle of 1889 and henry and winchester are regarded antique by federal laws, and thus are not subject to regulation on a federal level. But since Hochul's bizzare new legislation, guns are restricted to less than 10 rounds in terms of magazine capacity. Are those guns legal or are they exempt from this law since they are antique??

Yeah man, antiques like the Schmidt Rubin 1889 or old Henrys usually get exempt under federal law, but New York's mag cap rule still applies. Antique status doesn't override Hochul's new restrictions.

I do feel that some of these new state restrictions on magazine capacity feel more like political theater than safety measures. Antique rifles aside, limiting responsible owners seems unnecessary and punishes law-abiding gun owners more than it protects anyone

Well yeah, welcome to NY
