What’s Your Bedroom Gun?

Hey everyone, just curious about what you keep in your bedroom for protection. Do you have a specific firearm you rely on for home defense at night, and do you prefer keeping it in a safe or just out in the open?

My guns all stay locked up. My kids (or any one else in my home) accessing a firearm without my knowledge scares me much more than a bad guy breaking in in the middle of the night.

I hear all the time "you should teach your kids..." My girls are 3 and 6, and they know not to touch my guns, but I won't bet their lives on it. I'm sure most everyone who had an accidental shooting in their home would have sworn that someone "knew better" before it happend. To each their own though.

Since most of the things that go "bump" in my night are related to the chickens squawking and fussing after dark my at-the-ready gun is an Ithaca/SKB 200-E 20 gauge SxS. The other would be my EDC S&W Shield 9.
