Picked up something new today and figured I’d start a thread for others to share too. Doesn’t have to be anything big — ammo, accessories, deals you found, trades you made — if it’s gun-related, post it up. What’d you find or buy recently?
 
I just assembled a case annealer from a "short kit" of 3-D printed parts. A gentleman on Etsy offers the specialty parts and instructions/shopping list for what is needed and how to assemble. Came to $65 for the kit and another $85 +/- for components.

I've been in to reloading for years, but never played with annealing. Probably should as my tc contender likes to split case necks in the 30 herret barrel.
 
I never tried until I started reloading for my .303 Brit once the surplus ammo got crazy (and NY doesn’t allow me to buy any ammo off the Internet anymore). The headspace (on the rim) is good, but the chamber itself is “generous”. Moves the shoulder forward about 3/16” on the first firing. Annealing (even new brass) extends the case life several times.
 
One more step to complicate the process. But, I like the idea of building my own annealing machine. I have tools and I can be dangerous with them.
 
I got a Tempil surface temperature marker that melts at 750 degrees F. The unit has a potentiometer to adjust the motor speed, so by regulating the speed of turn you control how long the brass stays in the flame. Mark a test case neck with the Tempil and time to when the paint/wax(?) melts. Then I up the speed just a few points so it is slightly less time (like from 65% to 67% - the scale is 0 to 99), so it is maybe 730 degrees. You don’t want to see the pencil flame change colors, as that indicates you are burning off the alloy of the brass, so start short and work up into it. I also have a laser non-contact digital thermometer, but it’s hard to get the brass and not the flame itself, so I recommend a Tempil pen over that.

I use a salt bath annealer. 5 seconds in and throw in a bucket of water
 
Not specifically gun gear, but I ordered a Tidewe Vis360 ground blind (2-3 person) and their 360 degree hunting chair. My retirement cottage. I gave up on chain-on treestands and screw in steps a couple years ago, and still have two ladder stands I hunt from. But I see the writing on the wall and also may appreciate a dry spot to sit under with some wind protection.

I got one last year and love it. You can literally see 360* through the screen around you . If you set it up enough ahead of time so that the deer get used to it they get so close you can reach out and touch them . I prefer hunting from the ground but I’ll occasionally sit in one of two ladder stands that I have up. I also bought the Rino swivel seat and it’s almost too damned comfortable. The 360 blind is a game changer.
